I guess you don’t know that the Columbia river dams are largely run of river, with the exception of John Day which has a minimal storage capacity.

An educational soundbite: there are over 400 dams in the Columbia River Basin, which was once the most prolific producer of salmon on Earth. Removing only 1% of the dams (only 4), and replacing the 3-4% of the energy they provide for the NW, can achieve 70% of the basin’s salmon recovery potential.

The entire region will benefit.

“While the services the lower four Snake River dams provide are valuable to surrounding communities, those services can be replaced with alternative technologies.”

WA State will determine how “ those services can be replaced”.
